Haiti to Africa

We are on the missionary field for the glory of our Great King.

In Burkina Faso, West Africa, the Wesleyan Church of Haiti had its first experience of sending missionaries abroad. To begin this long period of apprenticeship, the church chose Windel Benjamin Etienne and his wife Marie Yolie Sylvie Etienne.

After three years spent mobilizing local Haitian churches and friends everywhere with a heart for Christian mission around the world in search of financial and spiritual partners, on October 10, 2019, the missionary couple moved to the land of men of integrity as the first long-term missionaries of the Wesleyan Church of Haiti.

The primary purpose of our role was to make disciples among the Wesleyan churches, provide vision and leadership to the leaders/pastors, strengthen and establish a healthy partnership with the local churches, implement community projects, evangelism, and plant new churches.

After spending five impactful years in Burkina Faso as pioneer missionaries, Yolie, our son Hudson, and I are now embarking on a new chapter in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where I will serve as the dean of the missionary school of the Wesleyan Church of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

After more than 75 years under the guidance of North American Wesleyan missionaries, the Wesleyan Church of Haiti has committed itself to joining the global mission (Matthew 28:19, 20).

Our VISION

See local churches engaged in a discipleship and church planting movement through an army of disciples of Jesus Christ passionate about the cause of the Gospel in the world, and communities that are holistically transformed.

Our MISSION

Equipping local churches through transformational leadership and intentional, multiplying, relational, holistic, perpetual, and practical discipleship for community impact and thoughtful engagement in the Great Commission to the glory of Jesus.

We invite you to join us by becoming our partner. By becoming our ministry partner spiritually and financially, you are helping us to equip missiology students and leaders to unleash a movement of discipleship and church planting across not only the DRC but throughout the French-speaking world and beyond. With you, we can reach the unreached and make a lasting impact.

Beyond our preferences, denominations, and doctrines, we all want to see the fulfillment of vision 5.9: redeemed people from every tribe, language, people, and nation bowing down before the Lamb (Revelation 5:9).
